Deciding on a school to enroll a child can be tough. Mdm Vica started thinking of this matter when she was pregnant with her only son, Danish. Despite her family being skeptical on her decision of placing Danish in a Madrasah, she did not let it bother her. She was even considering on part time Madrasah if Danish ever does not make it to a full time Madrasah.

After all the planning, Danish was actually given the choice of enrolling in Madrasah or government school for his Primary level. He chose to study in Madrasah without any persuasion. When they were performing Umrah in 2015, he told Mdm Vica that he would one day want to be a Muazzin at Mecca.

Mdm Vica is very supportive of her son and she always prepares Danish both physically and mentally. She also keeps track of her son’s development. Every day after school, before Danish is rewarded with play time, he is encouraged to sit and study. If there were no assignments from school, he will do some self-study with the books he has. He will also do some advanced studying where he studies more than what he does in school.  According to Mdm Vica, he has an aim to complete reading the Quran multiple times a year, just like Imaam asy-Syafie. He has already completed the Quran twice this year and is currently running for his third, in shaa Allah. Mdm Vica is very proud of Danish, especially when he took part in a Junior League Quranic Musabaqah (Tilawah Al-Quran-Juz Amma) at Al-Wehdah on 23rd December 2018. He won the Promising Reciter title under the Children’s Category.

Mdm Vica stressed on how wrong the rumours of placing children in Madrasah is. People claim that Madrasah cannot guarantee them a good future. However, she believes if parents were to push their children closer to Allah, He will guide them as He is the best planner. Although students of Madrasah have to struggle with so many subjects including religious studies, a lot of them aced and proved to others that it is something possible. In fact, the ones to win in competitions are usually people with Madrasah background. This shows that students in Madrasah can also excel. Mdm Vica is proud to have Danish study in Madrasah although he is her only son. She believes it will benefit her family and Danish likewise in so many ways in the present and future. If it is not of any worldly benefit, it is at least for the soul.

Mdm Vica hopes these kind of assistance will always continue to grow, that people would continue assisting and helping others who are in need in order to build a brighter society with better and knowledgeable children of quality.
